Ethical Hacking

What is ethical hacking, and how does it relate to business?

Ethical hackers can be defined as computer programmers with malicious intentions, and usually target businesses or government information. These people usually focus on stealing credentials or sensitive data for their own gain. Unlike professional hackers, who will usually do whatever to avoid exposure, they use other techniques and tactics so that the risk of getting caught is minimal. To help you out in this article, I’m going to look into some ethical hacking that you may experience when doing your personal project projects. The reasons are not always clear cut but there are many possible causes when a person chooses not to follow guidelines for ethical hacking. It’s best to do your research into these types of jobs before trying to approach them with an introduction offer.

The first cause
that ethical hacking can arise from is a user error when entering their information. A common mistake is typing something wrong, such as “Enter your email address,” instead of “email your place.” If someone tries to enter the wrong field, they won’t get what they were searching for. In most cases, however, if a user enters an incorrect input, the system automatically detects this and redirects to the correct file location. But often times, even if the system detects the problem, the user doesn’t follow the directions. This can cause issues when attempting to retrieve passwords or emails, which can cause serious issues in terms of security and data losses.

Another issue
that ethical hacking can occur is when users aren’t careful with their data. User error in regards to a website isn’t the only thing that can lead to unethical behavior and can also be caused by a bad customer service rep or agent. When a user has a poor time with an installation process for an item, they can easily fix an error and keep their money, reputation, and enjoyment. An honest mistake or miscommunication with a representative could cause the user to believe that they have no rights. Users should never give out more information than was required to complete their purchase, and it shouldn’t cost them anything to fix a mistake that an honest mistake. Many companies like Amazon have policies where any mistakes made by customers within any business, company, product, or online store that is provided through its platform is refunded, even if the customer did make a mistake or had another chance for a different solution. Not all customers are trustworthy and it's best to take time to find out what makes a potential customer behave in a certain way before accepting everything he says or trying to sell you. You won’t regret having an ethical hacker working for you; some people just want to steal money, others just don’t care about anyone’s opinions but are willing to steal to fulfill their goals.

Lastly, a third factor
that leads to unethical behaviour is a bad customer/employee experience. There are numerous bad experiences users could endure when looking for their products or services. One example would be when a new employee asks questions of basic knowledge regarding an installation, only to end up feeling as though they were cheated out of their hard-earned cash. Another scenario can occur when a customer service representative has a complaint with their payment method or gets rudely dismissed because of it. Some problems are due to human errors, other problems are due to bad timing, or bad luck. Everyone has things that they go wrong and when you lose $1,500 or $100,000 on a single order, the consequences can hurt you emotionally and financially.

Before you try to apply for an ethical hacker position, make sure that hiring them is worth the effort and that it is for some good reason. There are many people today willing to work for some pretty shady people just for the fact of it, or because they think they might win back a debt if they can cheat a competitor. People have gone to extreme lengths to manipulate and scam the competition on social media, get free product samples, and so forth. As long as you do your research beforehand, you’ll be able to choose the right fit for you and choose what kinds of information you want to receive. Most companies need applicants that have experience in a wide range of industries and can handle large sums of capital.
